An additional fairly clever chief of the centaurs was Pholos, who was explained for being the son of Seilenos the satyr as well as a Melian nymph. Pholos was visited by Herakles prior to commencing his fourth labor—Capturing the Erymanthian Boar. Pholos served a food of meat—thoughtfully cooking Herakle's portion. Herakles opened a jar of wine
